„Urban Life" Jacek Śliwka is a painter that did not studied painting or Art - just raised under the supervision of his father, a sculptor and a painter - but forestry instead (Kraków). In his Artworks he refers to figurativism and the characteristic elements that define his style are synthesis, compression and simplification of realism. In terms of structure his paintings reveal disorder, mess, capturing a passing, fleeting moment and the frame resembles a snapshot. He is interested in urban topics like nightlife and city situations in which you can get involved, lose yourself. The light source is often a flash and the paintings are done quickly, with similarities to realism but with it's own painting layers - textures, impastos, glazes, that gives emotionality and distinguishes the painting from a photograph.
